Rapture Questions for Walter C Martin Jr

Question #1 - Is there going to be a Pre-Tribulation Rapture?
We have 100 Blogsites, over half of which are addressing the Rapture. We believe the Bible evidence is overwhelming that the Second Coming is one event, not 2 events separated by 7 years. When Jesus said, "In My Father's House are many mansions (Rooms)....I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself that where I am, there ye may be also" (See Jn.14:1-3), we believe that this is how it will be. Anyone reading the Old Testament and even some passages in the New Testament will see certain Promises/Prophecies made to the Jews that promise them that they will be the leading nation of the world. It was God's plan to bless Israel so that the other nations of the world would want to know their God and the Law God gave them. As any Bible student knows, this did not happened. So, when Jesus came the first time, the Jews continued refusing to cooperate with God's plan, so, God's plan had to be altered. In the above quote from John 14, Jesus explained His changed plan. When Jesus comes at His Second Coming, every saved person that has ever lived on planet Earth will go back to Heaven with Him. There'll be no living people left behind, because the Tribulation will be over and those left on earth will be "Destroyed by the brightness of His coming" (2Thess.2:8). In Revelation, John explains that for 1000 years all of God's people will live in the mansions that Jesus prepared for them, after which the entire City of New Jerusalem will relocate down to Planet Earth. Jesus will destroy the remains of Planet Earth which was devastated at His Second Coming, and has been lying in complete ruins for 1000 years and He will create a New Heavens and a New Earth which will remain forever and ever. Thus, instead of His Kingdom being a temporary 1000 year, Millennial Kingdom, it will be a Forever Kingdom just as the Bible describes it.

Question #2 - Doesn't 1Thess. 4:16-18 describe the Pre-Trib Rapture?
Take a moment and compare the following to Matthew 24:31. "And He (Jesus) shall send His Angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His Elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Now 1Thess.4:16-18, "For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." Unless we can find other powerful Bible evidence to the contrary, these passages are describing the same event. Pre-Trib says they have such evidence, but this Author has carefully examined the Pre-Trib Scriptures and has found too many Scriptures denying any possibility of a Rapture before Christ's Second Coming.

Question #3 - How About 1Cor.15:51-52

Let's look at it's context. There are several points made here that totally eliminate any possibility of this establishing a Pre-Trib Rapture. We will underline key words: "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God; neither doeth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold I show you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptable, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So, when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory" (1Corn.15:50-55). This Scripture passage contains several points denying a Pre-Trib Rapture.
1 - "Last Trump." If there is to be another Trumpet seven years after the Trumpet Paul mentions here, would Paul have written "Last Trump?" Of course not.
2 -  "Flesh and Blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God." Pre-Trib says the Kingdom of God will be here on this earth for a thousand years, and will be inhabited with mortals, in their "Flesh and Blood" bodies. Throughout this whole passage, Paul is establishing that mortals cannot and will not be in God's Kingdom.
3 - "Death Swallowed up in Victory." Paul is saying that when Jesus comes, all death will be forever ended for God's people. In other words, the resurrection that occurs when Jesus comes will be the last Resurrection for saved people A thousand years later the lost wicked will be resurrected to face the Great White Throne Judgment, and then they will die in the fire that purifies earth in preparation for Jesus to create a New Earth. If we accept this as the Bible Truth, there will be no Un-Answered or Un-Answerable Questions to Ponder. If, however, we attempt to make Christ's Coming into two events, we make it appear that Scripture contradicts Scripture.

Question #4 - "One shall be Taken, the other Left." Isn't this the Pre-Trib Rapture?
This is in fact the most quoted Bible verse from promoters of a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Literature tracts are scattered everywhere using this as a proof text. However, a look into any Rapture sources of authority shows that the true position of Pre-Trib denies that this quote is referencing a Rapture, but rather Christ's Second Coming which most Pre-Trib promoters say happens seven years after the Rapture. A few promoters say it will be 3 1/2 years after the Rapture. Pre-Trib actually reverses the "Taken" and the "Left." They say the "Taken" will be taken to a Judgment and then cast into Hell, and the "Left" are left to enter a Millennial Kingdom here on earth. Thus it is that the most quoted Bible Verse that is supposed to support the Pre-Trib Rapture actually is not even addressing that Rapture. If the Reader is a Pre-Trib Pastor or a Layman that has studied Pre-Trib, you'll know that this is Pre-Trib's official teaching. However, if the Reader is not well studied, you may think we are incorrect. If so, take a few minutes and check your Scofield Bible, or do an Internet search and look at several Pre-Trib Websites that promote the Pre-Trib Rapture.

Question #5 Does Matt.24 teach that the Lost People are taken and the Saved People are left?
Let's let Jesus answer: He said the following when describing the "Taken" and the "Left." "And He (Jesus) shall send His Angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together [take] His Elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other" (Matt.24:31). Jesus then told the Disciples a parable about a fig tree, and how the days just before He returns will be very much like the days of Noah, then told them what would happen when the Angels "gathered" the Elect. "Then (at the Coming of the Son of man) shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken [gathered], and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken [gathered] and the other left" (Matt.24:40-41).  If we understand these in the way in which Jesus intended, there's no need to reverse them. The very next night after Jesus said these words to His Disciples, He said the following, which makes it perfectly clear who will be, "gathered," who'll be "taken," and who'll be "left." "Let not your hearts be troubled; Ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's House are many mansions (Rooms)....I go to prepare a place for you...I will come again, and receive you unto Myself that where I am, there ye may be also" (See Jn.14:1-3). We must let the Bible say what it says. For Bible proof as to who is taken and who is left, see Blogsite Who's "TAKEN" - Who's "LEFT BEHIND"

Question #6 - Where will God's Millennial Kingdom be Located?
We do not know the exact percentage on this, but from what we can determine, 90+ percent of Church Denominations teach that a Millennial Kingdom will be here on earth. The best answer we can offer is the answer Jesus gave His Disciples at His Last Supper: "Let not your hearts be troubled; Ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's House are many mansions (Rooms); if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself that where I am, there ye may be also" (See Jn.14:1-3). Obviously the Questioner will want much more proof, so we recommend two of our Blogsites. Just click on one or both of the following. "Christ's Millennial Kingdom."
